Safety Without Compromise
Without properly trained instructors, MATs risk inconsistent responses to challenging behaviors, legal liability, and staff burnout—compromising both safety and dignity.
Issue 1
Consistency
Establish a unified, MAT-wide approach to challenging behaviour that ensures every staff member responds appropriately and proportionally. In-house trainers maintain standards across departments and eliminate inconsistent practices that confuse children and increase risk.
Issue 2
Sustainability
Build lasting internal capacity rather than relying on external training. Your trained positive handling instructors can deliver ongoing training, refreshers, and induction sessions for new staff, ensuring continuity as your team changes over time.
Issue 3
Relevance
Tailor training specifically to your MAT’s unique challenges, children, and environment. Your in-house trainers understand your context intimately and can adapt content to address the specific scenarios your staff encounter daily.
Developing Exceptional Positive
Handling Trainers
Our 5-day programme transforms experienced staff into confident, skilled trainers who can deliver effective positive handling training across your MAT.
Evidence-Based
SCENA training methodology developed with Loughborough University faculty ensures maximum skills transfer through scenario-based learning. This research-informed approach has been proven effective across education settings.
Legally Sound
All content meets Department for Education guidance and has undergone comprehensive legal and medical review. Your trainers will understand duty of care, reasonable force principles, and documentation requirements.
Dignity-Centered
Our values-driven approach emphasises treating every person with dignity and respect, even in challenging situations. Your trainers will champion a positive, trauma-informed culture throughout your schools.
Three-Tier System
Trainers are certified as Lead, Team, or Assistant Instructors based on demonstrated competence, creating a clear development pathway that recognises different experience and skill levels.
